Letter to the editor: Pa. unemployment issues a conspiracy?

I have heard about unemployed people receiving only one month’s worth of regular unemployment compensation along with the $600 a week pandemic pay, and not being able to resolve the problem despite multiple efforts to do so.

I believe there is a conspiracy to force people to find income elsewhere so that Pennsylvania does not have to pay us. This is absolutely uncalled for, especially at a time when jobs are scarce because of the pandemic.

And now government officials are talking about a new pandemic plan that promises less money than $600 a week. I would like to know how they expect people who haven’t even received the first $600 a week in pandemic pay along with regular unemployment compensation to survive while they make their decision, or trust that it will ever even be sent to them once the decision is made.

I don’t believe you can trust the government — or anything government officials are saying about the coronavirus.
