Letter to the editor: Parents must step up to save students

Tribune-Review

We often hear it said that today’s political environment is controlled by the extremes. Many people believe that we need to look for ways we can come together somewhere in the middle and find common ground. In some areas, that is certainly possible. In others, not so much. Our costly, underperforming public schools system is an area upon which we cannot afford to compromise.

Recently, our teachers unions and public school boards have gone full psycho mode by attempting to block parents from being involved in their children’s education. Parent groups have been investigated and labeled right-wing extremists. Seriously? The word “exteme” indicates a belief, opinion or movement that deviates from those that most people adhere to.

Parents who demand a place in the education of their children are not being extreme. Passing laws that promote secrecy between children and parents (California, New Jersey) is extreme. Allowing male students to use female restrooms and locker rooms is extreme. Teaching impressionable 6-year-old students about sexual identity and gender fluidity is extreme. Having men dressed as women read stories to grade-schoolers is extreme. Assisting minor children in having their bodies mutilated is extreme. And evil.

We, the majority, have allowed the verifiably extreme, far-left minority to control our education system for far too long. On this issue there is no middle ground. The current education system is turning our children into woke zombies, unable to read or do math. Every good parent needs to join in the effort to stop them from preying on our children. Hopefully, it’s not too late.
