Letter to the editor: Pecarchik’s hard work, results make her best choice for register of wills

As a critical thinker, I found there to be no logic to the letter “Wian right pick for register of wills” (April 11, TribLive).

It appears her support of Jon Wian is based solely on the fact that he wasn’t involved in the mess created under the former register. If that’s the case, the writer should be supporting Katie Pecarchik, who not only was the first to warn us all of the crisis, but also bravely stepped forward to fix it.

When she stepped up as acting register, Pecarchik’s leadership and experience righted the ship. She fully staffed the office, cut through the backlog of adoptions and set forth policies to make sure the office functions as it should.

I am a lifelong conservative Republican who believes strongly that we need leaders who do the right thing, do not waste taxpayer money and make sure families are getting the services they need. Pecarchik has proven herself as qualified and caring.

This primary election is about good government versus political insiders and the “good old boys” club. In my opinion, Wian is a well-connected opportunist with no experience in management or the register’s office who is trying to benefit from Pecarchik’s hard work.

The choice is clear. Pecarchik has earned my vote the right way, with hard work and results.
