It upsets me that the mayor of Pittsburgh is criticizing the “pop out arrest” by the Pittsburgh police, instead of defending and praising them (“Mayor Peduto, Pittsburgh public safety leaders address protest arrest in Oakland,” Aug. 16, TribLIVE). He instead should direct the focus on the criminal acts that were responsible for the arrest. Kudos to the Pittsburgh Police for being careful to not let the situation get ugly.
