Letter to the editor: Pittsburgh should halt hunting in city parks
Concerning the killing of deer in Riverview Park (“Deer hunting to begin in 2 Pittsburgh parks,” Sept. 29, TribLIVE): Many years ago, someone shot a deer with a bow and arrow about a half-mile from my home. The deer died in agony in my front yard. I had to bury it because the hunter didn’t know where it was. It was the most horrible thing I ever saw.
Deer hunting is the deliberate infliction of suffering to one of the most beautiful creatures on earth. I urge all in city government to halt this cowardly and barbaric hunting in our city parks.
