Regarding Yarone Zober’s op-ed “Innamorato needs big action for an Allegheny County that has been thinking small” (May 20, TribLIVE): Thinking of small, Zober uses a lot of “small” words in his commentary but could not provide any examples where the progressive ideology was a successful form of government. Words like “if, how, can, can act big,” et al., are strewn throughout the narrative.
Cities like Seattle, Portland, Ore., New York City, Los Angeles and Philadelphia that have voted progressive have suffered disturbing consequences. Crime is rampant, taxes are rising, homeless populations are increasing and scores of people who have been victimized financially or criminally are leaving for more conservatively run cities.
Allegheny County has already witnessed the exit of 50,000 residents and, if elected, progressives will force their personal loony strategy on those remaining. Is this what we want in Allegheny County? May God help us remaining residents if progressive candidates Innamorato, Bethany Hallam and Matt Dugan become the dictators of our city and county.
