Letter-writer Kathleen Bollinger (“Jan. 6 witch hunt,” Aug. 4, TribLIVE) compares the investigation into the attempted coup against our government to the terrible events of the Salem witch trials, wherein hundreds of people were imprisoned and 20 were executed for their alleged crimes of “witchcraft,” all without a shred of verifiable evidence or credible testimony.

The current investigation is providing the public with both. Interestingly, Fox News has been making very similar comparisons, using similar reasoning as well.

In a previous letter “More to the story on Ukraine?” (May 13, TribLIVE) Bollinger stated her desire to let Russia do as it pleases in Ukraine. Tucker Carlson on Fox News was coincidentally arguing for the same actions to be taken. Even going so far as to praise Putin and claim that President Zelensky is a Nazi. He’s Jewish, by the way.

Fortunately, to the betterment of western civilization, Bollinger’s “opinions” do not seem to have any sway on our elected or military leaders. I’m unaware of what she does for a living, if anything, but might I suggest that she try her hand at acting. She offers a very convincing performance as a parrot.
