Letter to the editor: Political absurdities

Tribune-Review

The writer of the letter “The law and order president” (Feb. 16, TribLIVE) bolstered his judge/jury conviction of President Trump for the Jan. 6 mob assault on the Capitol by citing Voltaire, who wrote of injustices provoked by those convinced of believing absurdities. I guess the writer not expressing that Trump is the true Satan was an oversight.

But speaking to belief of absurdities provoking injustices, what leaped to mind was the jailing of one Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, he of “Innocence of Muslims” fame. Who knew that the killing of a U.S. ambassador, foreign service officer and two CIA contractors could be explained so easily by a Muslim mob incensed by a film?

Perhaps the aforementioned letter-writer drank from the Hillary Clinton/Susan Rice Kool-Aid stand proffering doled out on all the major networks following 2012 Benghazi killings that led to the jailing of poor Nakoula.

Absurdities; oh ye of “woke” faith to believe, “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor!”

As to the writer’s relief of awakening every morning having a president not groveling before Vladimir Putin: While drinking your morning joe, just remember Hunter Biden’s refrain: Set aside 10% for the big guy.

By the way, I believe Joe Biden was in charge of tracking expenditures from TARP under President Obama. Funny, never did see a summation; can we expect the same for the covid-19 relief extravaganza? Please, don’t be absurd.
