Letter to the editor: Political parties, Trump & Rose
A friend once said we have three political parties in this country: the liberal/socialist Democrats; the Republicans, who don’t know how to lead when they have congressional majorities; and President Donald Trump, the best of the three, a man who has done more good for our country in two years than other presidents have done in two terms.
Trump has every right to criticize the late Sen. John McCain, a RINO who disagreed with Trump on many political issues. McCain might have been a good soldier but he was a terrible politician, and I’m glad he was never elected president.
Concerning the Antwon Rose shooting, I think much of the trouble could have been avoided if the parents had done their job and kept their son off the streets. Drive-by shootings should not be a normal teen function. In addition, when he was ordered to stop by the police officer, he should have done so instead of fleeing. Flight is an indication of guilt.
Do we want “mob rule” instead of law and order in our justice system? Pittsburgh is a city of crime and can be compared to Philadelphia, Chicago or Detroit. Those who have doubts should tune into the 10 o’clock news to witness the shootings, drug deals, auto thefts and burglaries. I put much of the blame on the liberals who have been running the city for years. Are things about to change? Probably not in my lifetime.
