Letter to the editor: Politicians are in it for themselves

Tribune-Review

Pennsylvania voters are stupid, complacent or both. I have no respect for politicians. I think they are mostly in it for themselves and not for their constituents.

What is really frustrating is they don’t pass a budget for four months after it is due but they get their yearly automatic raise on time. In the nonpolitical world, not only would they not get a raise, they might very well be terminated.

A representative might say I wasn’t in office when the automatic raise bill was passed. My response would be, that may be the case, but what have you done to stop it? If he chooses not to take any action then he doesn’t have the moral fiber of someone I want to represent me in other matters. But you may say he is such a nice guy, I have to vote for him. If that is the case, you are voting for someone who is shafting you and then you are stupid.
