Letter to the editor: Politicians working together can save lives

Tribune-Review

Would you agree that 12 weeks could be a lifetime during a pandemic? It has been about 12 weeks since President Biden took office. More than 150 million shots of vaccine have been administered to people.

Just imagine how many people would have been vaccinated if, in the approximately 12-week period from Nov. 3 to Jan. 20, our politicians would have concentrated on a vaccine distribution plan. Had they worked together, thousands more people may be alive today. Schools would be open.

Americans deserve more from our politicians. It is way past time to quit blaming, criticizing and misleading “we the people” and get to work!

To the letter-writer who stated that we need more politicians like Rick Santorum (“Thoughts on Biden and more,” March 20, TribLIVE): Please Google “Rick Santorum covid money.” It appears he was a partner in a company that existed on paper only, and the company received $750,000 in seed money for plasma studies with the potential of getting $65 million. The company was based out of the owner’s condo. It seems unethical to apply for and take covid money meant for legitimate research. So my opinion is that, unfortunately, we have way too many politicians just like Rick Santorum.
