In response to Al Duerig’s letter “Who really benefits from Biden’s tax plans” (July 12, TribLIVE): President Biden is taxing the poor right now. In lockstep coordination with the Federal Reserve, inflation is ruining the purchasing power of the poorest Americans, with senior citizens, single mothers and minorities being hit the hardest. Inflation is basically ageism, sexism and racism rolled into one.

I am all for “free” health care so long as I can opt out. If it’s so groovy, I’ll reconsider.

I’m a little confused about the tax stuff. If taxing the rich at 91% is great, why not 92%? Or 99%? Why do liberals always argue that the government should collect the currency as taxes? Why not just mandate that the rich give currency directly to poor people?

Biden should make Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos pay for a few bridges directly. You know why they won’t? Because the bridges would go up in half the time for a fraction of the cost.

On an unrelated note — why isn’t Biden closing those gun loopholes? I’m sure he’ll get to it. Spaghetti and the thing, you know … . C’mon, man!

Republicans and Democrats: Government is the problem to all of our solutions. Vote third party.
