Let’s thank the brothers and sisters we have and love in this world for establishing the month of June to recognize the character trait of pride. So let us recognize it for what it is … one of the seven deadly vices or sins. It’s not to be celebrated as some would have us believe. It is to be avoided.
Do not be proud of anything but humble in every way. The vice of pride is a curse and the gateway to other debaucheries, such as envy, greed and lust. The virtue of humility is a blessing that engenders kindness, charity and chastity. Why is pride deadly? Because it leads to perdition while humility leads to eternal life. You do have a choice! Choose life.
