Letter to the editor: Problems with the Steelers
Dear Mr. Rooney,
I am writing about the smell emitting from Acristench Stadium. The culprit is your team, those Rich Men north of North Side, aka the Steelers (apologies Oliver Anthony).
I’ll help identify the problems so the air will clear before the EPA gets involved. In advance, you’re welcome.
By surrounding yourself with stooges, the lack of transparency, cronyism and failing to fire Pope Tomlin, you are the biggest problem. Where is your loyalty to the fans? Do your job or sell the team.
Tomlin has so many shortcomings and so few results. Last year’s rigged QB competition is now the ultimate chickens coming home to roost. His message is as stale as a month-old doughnut. Bye Mike, hello Chris Hoke.
Pickett should ride the pine until his passes hit the red barn Tomlin wants to paint. Post-marital blues? Maybe.
Drafting, development and coaching is a product of blatant cronyism. This team needs a cultural change.
I watched the Steelers play in the ’60s; hard to see the difference now. Simply put, they’re not good enough.
