So, how dumb are we when we pull a book from the classrooms, and it flies off the shelves of Amazon and booksellers? What do we accomplish? The same scenario applies to Dr. Seuss. Seriously?

Children are glued to their iPads and can pull up a host of unworthy materials to view, none of which is educational or tells a tale of life and history — and society is OK with it.

In school I read a bunch of books that I really didn’t know why they were required, but as an adult I can understand their relevance. Funny how we can tolerate TikTok and YouTube, but a good book is bad news.

Remember the literacy organization Reading is Fundamental? Let’s get back to the basics and the fundamentals of education.
