As a senior with multiple preconditions that make me very susceptible to the deadly covid-19 virus, I am eager to find out all I can about drugs or other medicines that may protect me from it, or be used to treat me should I become infected by it.

The use of hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of covid-19 is strongly opposed by U.S. government doctors, the Centers for Disease Control and federal health experts, who describe it as ineffective and dangerous. Physicians are advised not to prescribe it and U.S. pharmacists in some states have been forbidden to sell it for use against covid-19.

However, I would like to know what other nations may be using hydroxychloroquine successfully against covid-19, and if they are selling it to the public as an over-the-counter drug.
