Letter to the editor: Racism isn't the problem it used to be

As a white person close to 60, I am thoroughly disgusted by the disingenuous actions of the Democrats and the mainstream media. The media proclaims systematic racism and white privilege. I am certain that in the past systemic racism existed. You need not look further than our history of slavery and segregation. I am also certain that racism exists today, but at a much lesser rate.

As a young white person I saw a population that, I would say, existed of 50% people who were racist. Today I would say maybe 5% of the white people I encounter are racist. Most white people view racists as uncultured, uneducated ogres who are an embarrassment to our race. People my age of all races recognize the improvement because we lived through it. They also know there is still work to do.

But why do the progressives and mainstream media feel compelled to loudly proclaim racism to be a systemic problem? Why do they view the advances in racial equality as half empty instead of half full? I believe it’s because to achieve their global socialist agenda, they must split the vote of the American people, even if it creates division. Mainstream media outlets are owned by billionaire globalists using their power to achieve the global agenda of the United Nations.

This country will never truly come together until we are all just “Americans” regardless of race, religion, etc. A united American people who put their country and fellow citizens first does not fall in line with U.N. goals.
