Letter to the editor: Ramifications of illegal immigration
It is said that 10 million- plus illegal immigrants from over 100 countries (vast majority from Latin America) will have arrived at the end of President’s Biden’s term in office. Consequently, I will list the ramifications to America:
• Most illegals pay $5,000-plus to the Mexican cartels to get here. Since they are broke, guess who picks up the tab?
• Cartels make billions introducing drugs, sex trafficking, indentured servants and, indirectly, new diseases (i.e., resistant tuberculosis).
• Because demographics are changing, I believe we are being assimilated and eventually will be absorbed by the newcomers (culture), not the other way around (i.e., on my cable TV, there are over 25 L.A. stations, and look at today’s advertisements).
• When only two busloads of immigrants were sent to a sanctuary area at Martha’s Vineyard (the Obamas live there), within a couple days they were booted out. Texas has to deal with millions coming across the border with federal government restrictions hamstringing Texas to stop them. Don’t forget, millions of illegal immigrants have come here before (i.e., President Obama’s “Dreamers”).
America’s problems are deep. We are in debt $34 trillion and have a polarized Congress. A spy balloon was allowed to travel our airspace (China). We have inflation, rampant crime, drugs, the Afghanistan debacle and terrorist cells.
Checks and balances damaged, as there are judges out there who are subjective and not objective, which leads to a two-tiered justice system using politics rather than the law in making decisions.
If America doesn’t get its act together, there is a line from science fiction movies and TV: “Resistance is futile!”
