There will be many effects from the left-wing sponsored chaos currently happening in Minneapolis. Many will be political, some will be media-driven despite the facts, but the biggest concern could be the consequences of mob rule.

We have seen glimpses of this over the past decade, from Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, his family and even neighbors being harassed endlessly (even though those actions are against the law) before the Dobbs decision, to Republican elected officials facing harassment in public places and even at their own town hall events.

But the events in Minneapolis have the chilling possibility of turning our society into one that is not ruled as a representative republic, but by the will of unelected citizens. If the mob is successful in eliminating the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, or even preventing it from performing its mission, the financiers of these actions will be enticed to use this tactic for all its causes, no matter how ludicrous.

For those who are reveling in this political theater, understand that mobs are erratic and often do an about-turn. In the unforgettable words of Martin Niemöller, “… and there was no one left to speak out for me.”
