“Pirates win game — could lead to World Series”

Thankfully, the gaslighters who have replaced news journalists aren’t writing sports headlines — otherwise, that’s exactly what we might read. An Aug. 17 Associated Press article in the Trib reported: “Harris lays out economic game plan: Proposals could cut food, housing costs … .”

Unfortunately, this type of media gaslighting, in blatant support of progressive and liberal candidates, continues to mislead Americans daily. Kamala Harris’ proposal to eliminate “price gouging” by food producers and grocers has a predictable outcome, and it is not lower food prices. Grocers typically report net profits of about 1.6% on sales. If the federal government, known for its inefficient bureaucracies, were to set prices, then many grocery stores would quickly close, especially in poor neighborhoods with high crime rates and fewer premium grocery offerings. Grocers aren’t in business to lose money.

The proposal to provide $25,000 in downpayment assistance to first-time homebuyers, including illegals, would significantly increase demand — and home prices — while increasing the government’s deficit spending and adding to inflation for all of us.

The gaslighting media continues to fawn over Harris, much as they did with Biden in 2020, without requiring her to answer any questions about her policy proposals, many of which defy common sense and basic economic principles.

If you believe the AP’s suggestion that Harris’ proposals will lower food and housing costs, you might as well place a bet on the Pirates winning the World Series.
