Perhaps Lori Falce’s condescending column “Is it a conspiracy theory?” (July 30, TribLIVE) would carry more weight if we hadn’t been force-fed the mainstream media’s own conspiracy theories over the last few years.

President Trump conspired with the Russian government to steal the election? That’s a whopper so outlandish you would think journalists would demand proof before publishing. Nope. Didn’t need it. That conspiracy theory is still going strong.

We’ve been seeing footage of brutal mobs in major cities for months now. No thanks to the mainstream media, of course. They’re telling us the mobs are just peaceful demonstrators. My mistake.

We’ve all heard countless stories of how unrelated deaths are being counted as covid-19, and a person’s positive results are counted multiple times for each test required. Other positive results are assumed because of who was encountered. Add to that the huge financial incentives paid to hospitals for every case, and the harm it will do to the president’s poll numbers. You’ll forgive us for being a tad skeptical.
