Letter-writer Thomas Wagner (“Why the praise for Biden?” June 27, TribLIVE) seems to forget that when President Trump took office, he said the covid was like the flu and would go away. Then he got it and was flown to the hospital. Many of those who worked with Trump in the White House also got covid, and many did not hold their jobs very long if they disagreed with him. He was also at odds with his own vice president about the riot at the Capitol.

He and his family have long been friends with Putin. When Trump left office he took classified files with him to Florida, his home state (which has no personal income tax). He makes millions.

Until two years ago I was a Republican and am now a register independent.
