Letter to the editor: Reelect Jill Cooper

I am writing to endorse state Rep. Jill Cooper for reelection. As mayor of Murrysville, I have discussed with her many items that require state assistance to improve Murrysville’s operations and infrastructure. She has shown an unusual level of commitment to our community by securing acid mine remediation funds, as well as assistance with funding for the construction of new lodging at our fire hall. Currently, she is working diligently to obtain funds for bridge replacement projects throughout her district.

Her experience as economic development director for this community has served her well as she has developed a unique understanding of the area’s challenges and the opportunities they create for economic development. She has been a tireless advocate for our community in the state Legislature, always advancing the needs of the Murrysville region.

Cooper has shown a willingness to take the time to listen to the concerns of her constituents and find solutions to their challenges. This often requires her to work collaboratively with other elected officials.

Her leadership and commitment to public service make her the ideal candidate to continue representing Murrysville in the state Legislature.

On Election Day, April 23, I urge my fellow residents to join me in supporting Cooper. Together we can ensure that Murrysville continues to have a strong voice in the state Legislature and that our community remains a great place to live, work and raise a family.
