I received a mailer from a Republican challenger to Westmoreland County Commissioners Sean Kertes and Doug Chew, which stated if elected, he’d downsize from three commissioners to one and that he’d distribute the remaining covid Relief Funds to the people. I don’t think he has a clue.

The county code doesn’t allow one commissioner to do anything without a second vote, and the covid relief funds had to be used up by the end of 2021. Imagine having someone like him with obviously no knowledge of how the commissioners’ office works wanting to not only be a commissioner, but to also make himself an autocrat.

I will be voting to reelect Kertes and Chew, because they have demonstrated fiscal restraint and an aptitude for county government.
