Please reelect John Peck for district attorney. I believe he is the best candidate for such an important position. He has proven for the last 40 years that he is dedicated to keeping our community safe and criminals off the streets.

As I look back at Peck’s 40 years in office, I notice that he not only prosecutes the most difficult cases, such as the Brian Shaw murder and the Greensburg Six, but he is also available to the people in every capacity. I have attended the Lower Burrell Citizen’s Police Academy several times, and Peck is always there to speak to the citizens about his job and what he is doing in the DA’s office.

I recall a story Lower Burrell police Chief John Marhefka told about a shooting in a trailer park where Peck was on the scene investigating. Peck asked then-officer Marhefka, “Are you OK?” This was many years ago before he was chief, and he said he was so impressed that Peck even knew his name, let alone be worried and concerned about his well-being. This is a perfect example of the leader Peck is: He is truly concerned about everyone’s safety.

Residents of Westmoreland County are fortunate to have a working, hands-on district attorney who cares about everyone, and we must do everything we can to enable him to keep fighting for us.

Please vote to reelect the only candidate qualified to be the top law enforcement officer in Westmoreland County on Nov. 2.
