Letter to the editor: Reelect Synan as Murrysville mayor

Tribune-Review

Murrysville has indeed been fortunate to have been led by Regis Synan, who has decided to run for a second term. With skills honed by a lifetime of both industrial business and emergency services for the community, he focused on public safety (police, fire and EMS) and related committees while serving on Murrysville Council and has continued that focus as mayor.

The police department is now recognized by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission as one of five “Premier Law Enforcement Agencies” in Pennsylvania. Murrysville is safer, and police incidents are down. Similarly, Synan has provided leadership for funding the acquisition of emergency response equipment and two fire trucks. Murrysville’s roads are being paved and maintained using innovative maintenance techniques. Our parks have been improved by constructing a paved walking trail, a destination playground and a splash pad at the Murrysville Community Park. A Parks Foundation was established to raise funds to support park improvements.

The net result — Murrysville is growing, with nearly 100 new businesses established, and numerous new housing and condominium starts over the last six years.

When asked why he is seeking office again, he commented, “We live in a gem of a community and I want to do all I can to keep Murrysville a healthy, friendly and safe place for families to call home.”

Please join me in reelecting Regis Synan mayor of Murrysville.
