Letter to the editor: Remember GOP commissioners’ actions when voting

I wonder …

The article “Republican commissioners remove ballot drop box from Westmoreland courthouse” (Sept. 28, TribLIVE) stated that 72% of county’s mail-in ballot applications were from Democrats. Our elected Republican commissioners saw fit to do away with the drop box at the courthouse because of its expense. Perhaps they should consider aiding certain segments of our population, the elderly for one, to avail themselves of the voting rights in our democracy rather than making it more difficult for them.

I wonder if money would be found to keep the boxes if the 72% were Republicans. Money can be found to add new positions, give raises to deserving people and various other things.

I would hope the 72% will remember this at the next election of county commissioners.
