Your initiative to block funding to the World Health Organization via U.S. House Resolution 917 has alerted many of us in Westmoreland County. Last week, President Trump “officially” defunded the USA’s long-standing contribution to WHO, once its largest contributor. You’ve now actively participated in blocking research WHO aimed at improving human recovery from covid-19 and many other diseases suffered around the world.
How does reducing WHO’s effectiveness help our country in the middle of a deadly battle? In Westmoreland County, as of April 21, 286 are infected and 16 souls dead! Are you really celebrating your win?
Infirm senior citizens fight for their lives in the best of times. Your achievement further delays the research and test opportunities that would improve our world’s health. H.R. 917 can only result in weakening research. Do you agree that we are indelibly part of the covid-19 global pandemic? Our country is in the middle of a deadly battle.
We’ve both served in military and government service. We know service, honor and truth. Don’t we?
