Letter to the editor: Republican tactics should stop

The Republican Party includes many decent people, no doubt, who believe passionately in a set of beliefs. I fully respect their right to hold such beliefs and to promote them through honest means. However, these are minority views and aren’t gaining ground. Republicans should be content with all the advantages that the American electoral system already provides them — and those advantages are substantial — and stop with their endless attempts to gain even greater advantage.

No more voter suppression and intimidation, stacking of state electoral commissions with far-right partisans, and denying the results of fair elections and fueling insurrection. These are tactics of a hostile takeover and have the effect of disenfranchising me and others who vote like me. Just stop all of that.
