Letter to the editor: Republicans must reclaim America

Tribune-Review

Following the tragic death of George Floyd, we immediately saw legitimate protests against excessive police force. Very quickly, rioters captured the movement and we witnessed the destruction of public and personal property, looting, personal injury and even killing, the intimidation of innocent citizens, and the destruction of historical statues and other artifacts. This destruction occurred almost exclusively in geographic areas long controlled by Democratic politicians, and some of today’s Democratic leaders prevented the police from controlling the rioters — because the leaders generally support the rioters’ objectives? It soon became clear to me that the rioters were in charge.

The Wall Street Journal’s lead editorial on June 23 argued that the solution to the current attack on liberal values is for the “liberal establishment” to take charge and refute the anarchists. That is never going to happen. In my opinion, the “liberal establishment” is the group that got us to the current state, through an education system intolerant of intellectual diversity plus views are aligned with the rioters.

The only chance to retain and preserve our traditional way of life is through the election of Republicans. They are the only available force strong enough to defeat this anti-American movement. I believe that Joe Biden has dementia, and to me that means if he is elected, someone else or some group will be the political decision-makers. And as we have seen, Democratic leaders do not seem to object to rioters being in charge.

Please join me in giving Republicans the opportunity to reclaim America and preserve our traditional way of life.
