Letter to the editor: Return to Judeo-Christian values solution to violence

The impassioned June 1 Trib editorial (De’Avry Thomas won’t be the last victim, June 1, TribLIVE) states that a “chain of many stitches to close the wound of violence will involve law enforcement and social work, health care and mental health, economics and culture, government and grassroots.” Isn’t that what’s been tried for years?

What about a return to the Judeo-Christian values that underpinned Western civilization for 4,000 years? Nobody ever suggests that we resort to that! If we don’t resort to that, the editorial is just so much absolutely futile hand-wringing. Mass murderers are soulless, valueless hedonists — dangerous products of our relentless, steady march away from the values and spirituality of Moses and Jesus Christ.
