Letter to the editor: Revisionist history
Regarding Elwood Watson’s op-ed “The creep of Christian nationalism” (March 12, TribLive): Elwood, Elwood, Elwood, lend me your brain. On second thought, please don’t.
There are a few skinless sheep shivering out there. You owe them an apology.
To call you a country bumpkin would be an insult to country bumpkins. You insult my intelligence and the intelligence of the writers of our founding documents.
I’m sure you probably teach your students that they were a bunch of angry white men.
Here is my evidence to back up the above claims: Please show me anywhere in the United States Constitution and its amendments where “embedded” is the phrase “separation of church and state.” And you teach “history” to the leaders of tomorrow? It must be of the revisionist sort.
God save us all from professors and writers like you.
