I’m writing to express my disappointment in and disgust over the display that former Steelers player Rocky Bleier put on for Donald Trump (“Rocky Bleier names Trump ‘honorary Steeler’ during West Mifflin event,” May 30, TribLive). I can only say that Art Rooney must be turning over in his grave. This blatant act of political endorsement contradicts the statement at the bottom of a photo on Bleier’s website: “Rocky Bleier does not endorse any political candidates.” I used to have a lot of respect for Bleier and the Steelers I have lost it all
Bleier and the Steelers organization apparently support a convicted felon and adjudicated sexual abuser who is responsible for snatching people off of our streets, deporting innocent men to foreign prisons, taking away medical and food support for children and the poorest people of our nation.
Shame on Bleier and shame on the Steelers organization for allowing this to happen.
