I understand that priority of varied road projects is challenging to satisfy the need.

But after the work that has been done on Route 30 near Walmart, the understanding of the need for full project completion, taxpayer expectation and minimizing damage is lacking.

The main roadway from Route 136 to the Sam’s Club plaza generally looks nice; however, the transitions onto the varied bridge overpasses continue to be bumpy and rough.

Of special note is the very significant bump when heading east on Route 30 at the light where Big Lots is. Also the entrance/exits onto Route 30 at the Giant Eagle plaza, Sam’s Club and Rite Aid are so rough that they have to be causing tire and front-end damage even though there are “some” signs that say rough road.

Also of note is Route 30 in both directions in front of Westmoreland Mall. The seams are opening up more as are other deep potholes in this area. This should be the pride of this area with the impact of the casino. PennDOT had promised to do these?

It’s time for PennDOT to stop the dance and excuses. Looks like we need Sen. Kim Ward to put more pressure on PennDOT to execute completion of this.

As the main road in this area, Route 30 needs to be maintained and improved as such. PennDOT usually does a focused dressing-up of the stretch near Saint Vincent College when the Steelers open camp. How about the rest of the road now?
