An open letter to all drivers who use Route 356 from the Freeport bridge to Weinel Crossroads in Allegheny Township:

The speed limit on that road has never changed; it is still 45 mph, not 75 mph, which you seem to think you should be going. Remember, there are families that live along the road, and it is becoming more dangerous getting in and out of our driveways. Please be considerate and slow down; you will get to your destination eventually.

Also, leave your garbage in your car until you get home. My front yard, and others’ front yards, are not your garbage cans. My husband is tired of picking up your empty water bottles and cigarette packs and empty fast-food bags. Again, be courteous.

Please slow down.
