Letter-writer Dwayne Kiger (“Christian leaders & Trump,” May 26, TribLIVE) is preaching in a closed church.

Since Kiger references Scripture, why not then, “let he that is without sin cast the first stone” or “judge not lest thou be judged.”

The electorate went to the polls in November 2016 knowing Mother Teresa was not on the ballot.

Kiger, like most of his kind, easily sees the log in someone else’s eye, but fails to acknowledge the one in his own. To wit, the DNC debates the referencing of God in its 2012 and 2016 party platforms, approve of abortion at any time for any reason and willingness to crucify those who don’t share their views.

May I suggest Kiger read Paul’s letter to Titus: “Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people”.

Maybe then Kiger’s “mess” can be “cleaned up.”

Scripture cuts both ways.
