President Biden on Day 1 essentially opened our borders through executive orders that allow anyone who enters the country illegally to claim asylum, knowing they will not be properly vetted and will be released with a court date far in the future. This opened our nation to countless criminals, drug cartel members and potential terrorists.
A recent poll showed 62% of Americans want all illegal immigrants deported. The mainstream media claim this is impossible to accomplish. I disagree. It can be accomplished by pausing all asylum claims, enforcing E-Verify and prosecuting individuals and companies that employ illegal immigrants. All government funding should be cut to illegal immigrants paid directly or through government funded NGOs, including food, housing and legal aid.
Political leaders in locations identifying as sanctuaries for illegal immigrants, including police chiefs and sheriffs, should be prosecuted for aiding and abetting federal immigration law violations if they fail to notify Immigration and Customs Enforcement of illegal immigrants within their jurisdictions. When potential migrants learn they will be deported upon arrival at the border, they will stop coming, and many of those here will self-deport once they find that they cannot work and that their government-funded benefits are gone.
We have no obligation to return people to their country of origin; they should be deported to Mexico from where they entered this country. This may sound harsh, but these people have no right to be in our nation and certainly don’t deserve taxpayer-funded benefits. We will not have a country much longer if we don’t secure our borders.
