Sen. Kim Ward proved bureaucrats aren’t in charge of our government as long as public officials remain engaged (“ ‘We’re back’: Bushy Run’s 2023 battle reenactment will be held,” March 1, TribLIVE). Bureaucrats in Harrisburg were set on shutting down the Bushy Run reenactments for mostly political reasons. These are the same types that want to tear down statues, cancel Columbus Day and revise history to fit a left-wing narrative.

The reenactment was canceled until Ward intervened and used the weight of her office on behalf of her constituents to pressure the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission to change direction. The commission deployed traditional left-wing tactics in attempt to stop a group of volunteers from telling basic American history. Ward is a great example of what a fighter and a modern-day patriot looks like.
