Sometimes it seems Pennsylvanians cannot win against Gov. Tom Wolf and Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto. They are simply too powerful. However, citizens can express their outrage in subtle ways.

Wolf closed all public schools in March, citing public safety. Maybe they will reopen this fall.

Many property owners are now receiving their school tax bills. Usually I pay mine very early during the discount period, saving a huge $15-$25. This year will be different. Usually I can pay my taxes at face value until Oct. 31. This year, I will send my payment in the fourth week of October. If Wolf continues to play games, I may let it go into delinquency. I can afford the penalty.

Taxpayers are encouraged to pay early. School districts need the money. If they want my money, open the schools. The time for games is over.

Join me in the boycott against school taxes. Wolf and public school officials will get the message.
