It seems like every day, every day, the news has a story of a shooting, a murder or some kind of violence. This is what I think should be done.
The perpetrator in every case, whether Black or white, young or old, male or female, should not be sent to jail. Yes, that’s right, not to jail. Instead, send them to Ukraine, right in the middle of the worst fighting. Then they can shoot their guns to protect instead of destroy. This also would deter crime because no one would want that to happen to them. It would stop overcrowding in our jails and make our communities safer. The cost to transport would be far less than the cost of jailing them, and we could put those savings to far better use.
The only problem I can see with this is keeping the savings out of the hands of our politicians and getting it used for the intended purpose, and that, I grant you, is a big problem.
