To all in Congress who voted to shut down the government again:

How dare you. You put many families in economic peril without giving a thought to their distress. Then like cowards some of you went overseas for days, I assume so your constituents could not contact you.

I saw on the TV news Rep. Hakeem Jeffries and Sen. Chuck Schumer smiling in glee at what they were able to do. You forgot that you were elected to serve the people, not to get personal power. You either don’t care about the people or forgot what your mission is supposed to be, as you are not affected by the loss of income as you continue to get paid while the rest of the federal employees do not.

I am a retired federal employee who has been through a government shutdown more times than I care to remember. No one wins. You cost the government money and cause the public distress. You are never in a hurry to solve any crisis, as you have no incentive to return. Personally I will never vote for any of you who voted to shut the government down.
