Yes, there are roads closed and detours, but why must everyone come flying down Shearsburg Road instead of taking the Bonfire Shortcut to Route 56 to wherever they need to go? School will be back in session soon, and we have children on this road out to catch the bus in the morning and being dropped off after school. We also have ducks that cross the road from the lake over to the other side of the road. When cutting the grass, we have to watch out for speeding cars before cutting along the bottom of our yards.

Yes, our police have put down fresh VASCAR lines and do occasionally monitor the road, but Allegheny Township is a big area, and they can’t be here all the time.

If you have to come down Shearsburg Road, obey the speed limit, which is 25 mph!
