I ride bicycles around town, like I’m supposed to, and it’s been great for the abs. But with all the sinkholes cracking open like eggs, I’ve decided to go with a pogo stick. That way, when the sidewalk or street breaks under me, I’m safe. I got a shock-absorbing device, and it’s probably legal on the bike lanes. More people should consider this option.

Then there’s the less self-centered, slightly more mature community aspect of the sinkholes. There’s been talk for years about securing the infrastructure. There’s been miles of new construction, with water hazards like on golf courses from water main cracks.

Tectonic shift gavottes with fracking and a century of redundant excavations. No profound total answers on this hassle. I’d ease up on new construction till the dirt settles.
