Letter to the editor: Why not solar panels at high school?

I’ve been following various articles concerning the renovations at Hempfield Area High School. What I have not seen are any references to installing solar collectors on the roof of the renovated building.

These could reduce electricity usage and perhaps be a potential source of income by selling excess power to the “grid.” Additionally, this could be incorporated into the curriculum to demonstrate how it works and also expose the students to new careers and jobs.
