Letter to the editor: Speak out about Trump's actions before it's too late
I am a byproduct of World War II. My family lost everything, including my father, whom I never had a chance to know. This was all due to one maniacal person by the name of Adolf Hitler.
Now I fear we are slowly evolving into another era of evil and deception. Our current president gives me that fear. He does similar things to what Hitler did. His hatred for people other than the ones he approves of must go!
Many of the people he so viciously pursues have come here to be safe from the evil and poverty they had to fear in their home countries. They have come in droves to find work and to be safe. They have found work and a quiet way of life. They have helped farmers harvest their crops. They have done menial jobs no one else would want. They have served us in so many ways.
Now they are being rooted out by ICE, which I see as the new Gestapo. They tear people from their jobs and homes and transfer them into “internment camps.”
It is obvious to me that white supremacy has found the upper hand again.
Now no news media is safe from being shut down or limited in their reporting. Free speech and free press are in danger. We are on the brink of losing our democratic rights.
Please think of who we are and want to be. And speak out before it is too late. It is important.
