Elections are about choices, and I see the biggest contrast in the Pennsylvania state treasurer race. Our current treasurer, Joe Torsella, is a member of the Philadelphia elite. I don’t think he has any idea how middle-class, hard-working Pennsylvania families in the center of the state struggle to make ends meet.

Fortunately, we have a better choice. Stacy Garrity is a lifelong Pennsylvanian from Bradford County. She is a decorated military veteran who was deployed to Iraq three times, where Iraqis called her “the angel of the desert” due to her perfect record of no complaints of abuse from Iraqi soldiers interned at the camp where she served. She is also a businesswoman who has focused on creating manufacturing jobs in our commonwealth.

The choice of who should be our next state treasurer couldn’t be more stark — or more clear.
