Letter to the editor: State of the Union rudeness uncalled for

Tribune-Review

To write or not to write, that was the question. The reprehensible display during the president’s State of the Union address is what necessitates this letter.

Like Joe Biden or not, I expected silence from the audience, not crude outbursts. The office of the presidency deserves courtesy even if you disagree with the present president. The other side had time to present a dignified rebuttal. There was no call for such rude behavior.

I have been watching State of the Union speeches since my early years. I have always been interested in government and politics. I can now see why much of the general public can engage in any manner of activity they choose if this is what they see from some of the Congress.
