Clearly the U.S. media inadequately covers the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and pretends that it is a clash of comparable violence.

There has been unrelenting violence against Palestinians since the displacement and ethnic cleansing of hundreds of thousands (over 750,000) of Palestinians during the 1948 creation of the state of Israel. Since that time, millions of Palestinians have been killed. Palestinians are second-class citizens in their own homeland. Palestinians live under occupation every day of their lives and endure the threat on continuous raids on their homes.

With just over a month into the new year, Israeli soldiers have killed at least 30 Palestinians, including four teenagers. Most of the world condemns Israel’s repeated violation of human rights, but the U.S. is nearly alone in its support of the brutality. Moreover, the U.S. provides Israel with nearly $3 billion year and over time, Israel has received hundreds of billions of dollars from the United States for “military aid.”

It is time to tell Congress to stop funding Israeli violence that destroys Palestinian homes and lives. It is time for the U.S. to join the international community in condemning Israel’s actions.

Israel is most definitely an apartheid government. They continue to destroy settlements, steal land and deny fundamental human rights of Palestinians.
