We have all sorts of great bands here in the USA. Gene James, why would we pay $10,000 to a band from Russia (“Greensburg’s SummerSounds raising money to book Russian Chicago cover band,” April 11, TribLIVE)? If you think this band is so great, you pay $10,000 from your wallet.

If you want a great band, book the Tommy Dorsey Band. Most of the people who come to SummerSounds are senior citizens. Do you really think a rock band will bring in a crowd like the Dorsey band did? The last time the Tommy Dorsey Band played, the area was overflowing with people.

Who are you pleasing, the listeners or yourself? I do not want to pay $10,000 for a Russian band.
