As an Army veteran, I would like to thank our doctors, nurses and all who continue to serve on the front lines as we fight to defeat this cruel virus.

All veterans know the horror of war, fighting the enemy who wants to destroy. Today our brave military are fighting two enemies, one who they can identify and one they cannot. This one knows no side, kills without firing a shot and doesn’t care which uniform it destroys.

A medic fights to save a life on the battlefield. He sees the wounds and acts. Our medics in hospitals all around the United States can only do their best to save a life without the aid of identifying the injury that destroys without a shot being fired.

The injured will survive and deaths will occur, but not from the lack of brave soldiers, doctors and nurses all around the globe.

So, my friends, if you see a military person, doctor or nurse, thank them. Let them know you appreciate them. And yes, wear your mask. It’s the best way to thank them.

Let’s defeat this together. God bless our military and our great heroes here at home who are saving lives.
